UNDERTAKING THE FIRST YEAR OF
THE R J HARRIS-STYLE ALLOTMENT
In the Year 1 Area, prior to the commencement of
the first year of the Year 1 Area's four-year life span
Well before the key first day of the September moon's first quarter -- to ensure that all aids are easily and quickly available when this important day arrives
01) store on the service strip the component materials of the two types of R J Harris bed -- including the all-important horse manure, heaped in accordance with Manure, page 219, 'R J Harris's Moon Gardening'. To seek the nearest source of supply of free horse manure go to this site's opening page. Return to this point by using the PC's Back button. If you cannot access the Internet, contact Really Useful Books by telephone (01743 246469) with a request
02) with a source of supply located, collect from it, first, fully-composted horse manure, and as much of the material as is possible
03) failing this, collect partially-composted horse manure
04) failing this, collect fresh horse manure and, as soon as is possible, place it to compost on the allotment-to-be's service strip. Allow it to lie heaped for the longest possible period of time before using it for bed construction. See Manure, page 219, 'R J Harris's Moon Gardening'
05) be guided by the supply source in choosing the collected material. Collect it so that no untidiness is created with which, afterwards, the supplier has to contend
