MC e-mails a reminder (see 2003 Calendar and the link at the foot of the page): "Now that all the festivities are over and my thoughts are once more turning to gardening, well they will be when the ground dries out, I was wondering if there is any sign of the Moon Gardening Calendar that R J Harris was putting together for his own use, but was also willing to share."

MC follows up: "Many thanks for e-mailing the copy of the Moon Calendar file. This was exactly what I was looking for -- well, not exactly, but near enough.
"All I did was change the headings (easy to do as it is a Word document). I have changed the headings from New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, Second Quarter to First Quarter, Second Quarter,Third Quarter and Fourth Quarter. This then ties in with what is advised at the bottom of Page 163 in 'R J Harris's Moon Gardening' [see the link at the foot of the page: Ed]. This also makes it easier for me to know when to carry out the various tasks."

MC replies to an e-mailed question: "My 'not exactly' referred only to the matter of the moon phase names. As I mentioned, this was very easily rectified to suit my untutored mind.
"I would think to compile a moon calendar in the ideal as you described would indeed be a mammoth task. All I have done, which I am sure will meet my simple needs, is to identify the Ist quarter as the time to plant/sow below ground developers e.g. carrots, the 2nd quarter for above ground developers e.g.cabbage the 3rd quarter for harvesting and the 4th quarter to manure, fertilise, weed & prune. I just hope I have read the book correctly and that my pointers are indeed correct
